Donate Goods or Services to WSA

A monetary gift isn't the only way to make an impact. In-kind donations of goods and professional services help WSA run our events, support operations, and stretch every dollar of funding for our students and teachers.

Make an In-Kind Donation

In-kind donations of goods and services may be tax-deductible.

The Waldorf School of Atlanta is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, federal tax ID 58-1741907, and we provide written acknowledgment for in-kind gifts. We will describe what you gave, but IRS rules mean the school cannot assign a value to it. Determining fair market value is the donor's responsibility, and gifts valued above $5,000 generally require a qualified appraisal. Please consult your tax advisor for guidance specific to your situation.

What is an in-kind donation?

An in-kind donation is a contribution of goods or services rather than cash. For WSA, in-kind support might mean donating supplies for our events, contributing items for our live auction at the Auction & Gala, offering professional services that our team would otherwise need to purchase, or providing venue space, catering, or equipment. Every in-kind gift reduces our overhead and puts more funding toward our school.

What we accept

  • Auction and Event Items

Our Annual Auction and Gala each April is the biggest fundraising night of the school year, and the auction is its heart. We welcome experiences, getaways, restaurant and spa certificates, lessons and camps, original art, and anything else that would make a room of 250 people put their paddles up. The threshold is a fair market value of $50 or more, and the best items are often the most specific: a weekend at your cabin, a lesson in what you happen to be good at.

  • Professional Services

Do you do design, photography, videography, printing, marketing, event production, live music, or catering? Donated services keep our costs down and send more of what we raise to students. If your expertise could support an event or a communication, tell us. We would rather ask you than buy it.

  • Event Supplies and Equipment

Flowers for the welcome tables, gift cards we can use as prizes, coffee for the Holiday Fair Bake Shop, signage, tableware, staging, and audiovisual equipment. Both the Holiday Fair in November and the Auction and Gala in April run on contributions like these. No item is too small.

Other Goods

Not sure if what you have qualifies? Reach out and tell us what you'd like to donate. We will let you know if it's a good fit and work with you to make the donation as easy as possible.

Other Ways to Give

  • Annual Fund

The school's operating support, raised fresh every year. It is the most flexible gift you can make and the one we build the budget around. Our goal this year is $115,000.

  • GOAL Scholarships

Redirect a portion of the income tax you already owe to fund tuition assistance at WSA, and receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit. Applying takes two minutes, and no payment is due when you apply. The window closes December 31.

  • Auction & Gala

One evening each spring, our community gathers for dinner, dancing, and an auction of extraordinary things, and the whole night funds the school. Buy a ticket and bid, sponsor the evening, or donate something to the auction table. It is the rare way of giving where you also get a night out.

  • Matching Gifts

Many employers match charitable gifts, and some match monthly ones too. Ask your HR department whether yours is one of them, and let us know if it is so we can thank you for both.

  • Stock, Retirement, IRAs

A gift of appreciated securities can carry meaningful tax advantages compared with selling first and giving the proceeds. Contact us before you initiate a transfer so we can watch for your gift and thank you promptly.

  • Wills & Bequests

Some families choose to make WSA part of their legacy through a bequest, a trust, or an endowment gift: the gift of this education for children they may never meet. We would be honored to talk it through with you and your advisor.

  • Sponsorship

Sponsor the Holiday Fair in November or the Annual Auction and Gala in April, in cash or in-kind. Four simple levels at each event, with recognition that stays visible on our website.

  • In-Kind Donations

Auction items and experiences valued at $50 or more, gift cards, flowers for the Fair, or professional services like printing, catering, or photography.

  • Evergreen Partners

Georgia businesses that participate in GOAL on behalf of WSA are recognized as Evergreen Partners, with priority placement in our Business Directory.
