Morning Garden: Under 3 & Me

A place for you to grow with your child. In weekly classes, babies and toddlers spend unhurried mornings with their grown-ups: songs, simple play, natural materials, and no screens in sight. It is not daycare. It is a second home for the earliest years, one morning at a time, guided by an experienced Waldorf early childhood educator.

What a morning looks like

For infants (with their grown-up)

Infant classes meet in one of our classrooms, in small groups of four or five families. There are two classes, and your baby joins the one that matches where they are in learning to move.

Before mobility. For babies who are not yet on the move: finding their own hands, reaching for their toes, rolling, getting interested in moving, each in their own time.

On the move. For babies who are crawling or scooting, pulling up, and cruising along the furniture.

In both, the hour is calm and companionable. You will watch the quiet, important work of infancy unfold in an atmosphere of observation and trust, alongside families whose babies are at the same stage, so every baby is in good company.

For toddlers (with their grown-up)

Toddlers and their grown-ups share a rhythmic outdoor morning of songs, movement, and a warm snack offered by the teacher. As children learn to walk and their hands come free, speech begins to emerge, and with it a richer social life; the group slowly builds a sense of we.

While the children play, the adults have an opportunity to talk with the teacher about the questions every parent carries: child development, parenting, rhythm at home, meals, sleep, screens, and the everyday work of raising a small child.

Why it matters

The first three years ask more of a parent than any other, and they go by fastest. Morning Garden gives you what those years rarely offer: time to slow down and truly watch your child, the company of families in the same season of life, and a gentle introduction to a way of raising children that puts childhood first. This is not a class your child is dropped off at. It is a place you build together.

A few of the questions we talk through together

Child development and parenting, meals and mealtime rhythm, healthy sleep, gentle discipline in the early years, and how to bring intention to screens and technology at home. You are never alone with these questions here.
