Athletics & After-School Programs

The day does not end when the last lesson does. After-school clubs and programs give children more ways to explore, from sports and engineering to games and the arts, and the offerings change with the seasons. Before-school care and extended-day hours are available for working families.

A recent season's offerings

  • PlayBall (Grades 1-3): ball skills and games on Tuesday afternoons in the Glade.

  • Lego Engineering (Grades 1-3): building challenges on Wednesday afternoons.

  • Ultimate Frisbee (Grades 6-8) Mondays and Wednesdays at the Columbia Theological Seminary Field. Game days vary.

  • Cooking around the World (Grades 4-6) Wednesday afternoons in the Science lab

Sports in the middle grades

In grades 6-8, conventional sports enter the physical education curriculum, arriving exactly when students are ready to respect the law of rules, work as a team, and pursue technique, timing, and the spirit of the game. After-school athletics give students even more ways to move and play, with offerings that change by season.
