Beyond WSA:

Where our students go, and what they take with them.

Ready for high school, and beyond

Eighth grade at WSA is not an ending that arrives by default. It is a launch, prepared deliberately. By graduation, students have worked through Algebra I, written and defended research, run their own experiments, performed on stage every year since first grade, and done it all as readers, makers, and musicians. High schools notice. Our graduates arrive with something admissions offices consistently remark on: they know how to work, they know how to speak, and they know who they are.

Where our graduates go

WSA graduates leave ready for the high school of their choice. Recent graduates have gone on to Academe of the Oaks, Paideia, Woodward, DeKalb School of the Arts, and Decatur High School, and in time to more than 80 colleges and universities.

Alumni Spotlights

Our school has shaped many lives through the years, and our alumni continue to carry WSA’s spirit of creativity, compassion, and curiosity into the world.

Beyond WSA: High School

When we graduate our students from Grade 8, we have prepared them to attend the high school of their choice. Due to the skills, interests, and geographical diversity of our students, our graduates have gone on to attend the following public and private high schools in recent years:

  • Academe of the Oaks, the local Waldorf high school

  • Other private schools, including The New School, Paideia, Pace Academy, and Woodward Academy

  • DeKalb School of the Arts, a local public charter school

  • Other public schools, including Decatur H.S., Druid Hills H.S. and Midtown (formerly Grady) H.S.
