We Are Many. We are One.
“At WSA you don’t just enroll your child. You join a community of families who share your values.”

WSA was founded by parents in 1986, and parent involvement remains vital to our community today. When you lend a hand, you share in your child's educational experience and directly shape the community that nurtures all of our children. Children are encouraged to join in too, with many chances for families to bond with classmates through shared acts of service. As the saying goes, "many hands make light work."
To get involved, contact Dana Palermo, our Community Engagement Director.
Here are some of the volunteer opportunities for each school year:
Get Involved
-
Help promote WSA through positive reviews on social media and online school directories. Serve as Parent Ambassadors. Join WSA faculty and staff at local festivals and private school fairs.
-
This is WSA's biggest community event of the year. We ask that all WSA families contribute 3-4 hours in preparation of this event and a minimum of a 2-hour shift for each child enrolled (4 hours max) on Holiday Fair weekend. We appreciate that some parents contribute even more hours toward this wonderful outreach opportunity. In addition to the above hours, we ask for a parent volunteer from each class to serve as a Holiday Fair representative to provide leadership for their class.
-
Work with Development staff and other parents to secure resources for the school through a range of activities for the school's ongoing fundraising efforts. Activities include: serving on the Philanthropy Committee, making calls for the Annual Fund Phone-a-thon, encouraging Annual Fund participation, recruiting participants for the Georgia GOAL program, researching foundations and preparing grant requests, supporting various mailings (e.g. stuffing envelopes, etc.), and working to strengthen relations with alumni.

Help to plan WSA's largest fundraiser and social event for the school year. Join the Auction Committee, which has subcommittees for event planning, class auction project coordination, auction database management, silent auction management, food, music, fun and more. These leadership roles are available: Sponsorship Chair, Class Auction Project Chair, Silent Auction Chair, Event Logistics Chair, and Marketing Chair. We need around 10-20 volunteers to make the auction happen (in addition to the individual class auction reps, who make the class auction projects happen).

WSA hosts over 15-20 Waldorf mentors, evaluators, consultants, prospective teachers, and guests to our campus each year. As a gracious offering, our school provides a snack and lunch for each day our guest is on campus.
WSA also offers housing for our out of town guests. Join the team of WSA parents and alumni parents who generously offer a room in their home to host WSA guests for 5 days or less.
-
Join efforts to demonstrate gratitude to WSA’s teachers and staff throughout the year.
