WSA 2020 Spring Plant Fundraiser

Grade 6 students developed a plant fundraiser as part of their Business Math Block. All proceeds will benefit Heifer International, a global non-profit working to eradicate poverty and hunger through sustainable, values-based holistic community development.  The students worked hard to build green house shelves, start seeds and gain other important skills to be urban market gardeners. Even though the current circumstances do not allow the students to participate fully in this event, the Gardening Team is delighted to present a plant fundraiser on their behalf.

To participate, please follow these guidelines:

  1. Look at the Catalog below to select your order and email Miyuki with your specific plant selections and quantities at mmaruping@waldorfatlanta.org.
  2. Please use the PayPal link below to make your donation and complete your order.
  3. Miyuki will email you when the order is ready for pick up.
  4. Please SIGN-UP* HERE to pick up your plants in the outdoor classroom area of the school garden. We kindly ask you to bring your personal gloves.
  5. We will reuse plant pots and trays. Please rinse them after transplanting, and bring them to school garden if you can. We will have a drop off site available underneath the big table.
List Plant Selection(s) below, then click Pay Now. You can insert your payment amount when you are redirected to Paypal.

A Note about Safety Measures:

Please know that all the plant pots and the surfaces of the outdoor classroom area are wiped thoroughly with alcohol sanitizer (75% or higher AC). We keep sanitized gloves on when we put the orders together.  Please refer to the sign-up* in the guidelines to pick-up of orders.

Donations to Charity:

The money raised thorough this plant fundraiser will be donated to Heifer International. Heifer International is a global nonprofit working to eradicate poverty and hunger through sustainable, values-based holistic community development. Heifer distributes animals, along with agricultural and values-based training, to families in need around the world as a means of providing self-sufficiency. Recipients must agree to "pass on the gift" by sharing animal offspring, as well as the skills and knowledge of animal husbandry and agricultural training with other impoverished families.
