Admission Process

We are delighted that you are considering applying for admission to The Waldorf School of Atlanta (WSA). Before submitting an application, all parents are encouraged to visit the school to learn more about Waldorf education and the philosophy that supports and enlivens it. Please refer to our website for the dates of our parent information sessions and tours.

NOTE: We continue to accept a limited number of applications for the 2019-20 school year. If you are interested in immediate enrollment, please contact Stacey Alston at salston@waldorfatlanta.org to inquire about available space in our classes.

For families interested in enrolling for the school year 2020-21, our school has partnered with Ravenna in our application process. We invite you to begin exploring our school by completing a profile through Ravenna. Spring admissions events are ongoing so please submit your application as soon as possible.

The Waldorf School of Atlanta does not discriminate against candidates for admission on the basis of race, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, genetic information, or disability status, as well as other classifications protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.

Application notes for families applying for ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE GRADES (Grades 1 to 8):

Most students with varied learning styles are successful at The Waldorf School of Atlanta. While much of the teaching is auditory, we offer a hands-on, experiential curriculum that appeals to visual and kinesthetic learners as well. We expect students in grades four and older to be at or above grade level in academic subjects. While we can accept a few students with learning challenges, we have limited resources as this is not our primary focus. Our larger class sizes, while beneficial for social reasons, can be a detriment to students who need a significant amount of extra learning support.
  • Complete the application for WSA through Ravenna and submit the $75 application fee.
  • Request a teacher recommendation through the Ravenna platform.
  • Print and submit the records request to your child's current school through Ravenna.
  • After a review of the paperwork, your child will be scheduled for a two to three day visit, so the teachers can work with him/her in a classroom setting. Older children may also be asked to meet with the class teacher prior to the visit or to come in for a learning assessment.
  • After your child has completed a successful classroom visit, you will be contacted for an interview with the class teacher.
  • To apply for financial aid, please consult Tuition Assistance tab for more information. The deadline is February 14, 2020.
