Admission Process

We are delighted that you are considering applying for admission to The Waldorf School of Atlanta (WSA). Before submitting an application, all parents are encouraged to first visit the school to learn more about Waldorf education and the philosophy that supports and enlivens it. Please sign up for a tour; the dates are available on our website. Please call Stacey Alston, our Enrollment Director, at (404) 377-1315 x1060 or email us with your request.

NOTE: We continue to accept a limited number of applications once a school year has gotten underway if space is still available. Please contact Stacey Alston at salston@waldorfatlanta.org to determine space availability.

The WSA application can be completed online. All of the other application materials are attached here. Please use the checklist below if you are applying for enrollment for the Fall of 2018. Inform the Enrollment Director, Stacey Alston, if you are interested in immediate or mid-year enrollment.

The Waldorf School of Atlanta does not discriminate against candidates for admission on the basis of race, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, genetic information, or disability status, as well as other classifications protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.

ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE GRADES (Grades 1 to 8)

Most students with varied learning styles are successful at The Waldorf School of Atlanta. While much of the teaching is auditory, we offer a hands-on, experiential curriculum that appeals to visual and kinesthetic learners as well. We expect students in grades four and older to be at or above grade level in academic subjects. While we can accept a few students with learning challenges, we have limited resources as this is not our primary focus. Our larger class sizes, while beneficial for social reasons, can be a detriment to students who need a significant amount of extra learning support.

Complete the application online by February 23, 2018, along with a $75 non-refundable application fee, and a photograph of your child.

____ Give the Records Release form to your child’s current school. They will forward school records to WSA.

____ Your family will receive a copy of Waldorf Education: A Family Guide. Please review it prior to your parent-teacher interview

____ After a review of the paperwork, your child will be scheduled for a two to three day visit, so the teachers can work with him/her in a classroom setting. Older children may also be asked to meet with the class teacher prior to the visit or to come in for a learning assessment.

____ After your child has completed a successful classroom visit, you will be contacted for an interview with the class teacher.
