Grade 7 & 8 Students in the Growing Community Group of Practical Arts

7th and 8th grade students in the Growing Community group of Practical Arts class studied about two amazing medicinal plants that grow in our school garden: elder and chickweed. To support our knowledge about the plants with all our senses, we had a hands-on activity of elder berry syrup and chickweed oil making. Oh, the syrup turned out so wonderfully tasty! Chickweed oil will be used to make a salve in a couple of weeks.

HOLIDAY FAIR! Save the Date: Saturday, November 3rd

This year, the Holiday Fair will be held on November 3, 2018, 10:00-4:00pm – This is our biggest outreach event of the year. While each class will have Holiday Fair representatives who will provide leadership for the Fair, we ask that all WSA families contribute 3-4 hours in preparation of this event and a minimum of a 2-hour shift for each child enrolled (4 hours max) on Holiday Fair weekend. We appreciate that some parents will contribute even more hours toward this wonderful outreach opportunity.
