| School Administrator |
Position: School Administrator
Functioning Role: Managing the business operations of the School
Reporting to: The School Administrator works collaboratively with the Core Faculty (pedagogical leadership for the school) and the Board of Trustees (the financial and legal leadership for the school) and is reviewed annually by the Executive Committee, which consist of members from both leadership groups.
Overall Responsibility
The Administrator communicates and inspires the values and ideology of the Waldorf philosophy to the general public, the private school community and our school community and Administrative Staff. This individual enjoys working collaboratively with multiple committees, while firmly holding the vision and priorities for the school as outlined in the strategic plan and accreditation self-study. We are seeking a diplomatic, straightforward and confident professional.
Key Areas of Responsibility

Manages the Administrative Staff consisting of an Enrollment Director, Business Director, Development Director, Facilities Manager, Custodian and Office Coordinator. |
|
|
Responsible for managing the affairs of the school within the provided budget. |
|
|
Actively participates on the Core Faculty and the Board of Trustees to facilitate the strategic plan and accreditation self-study. |
|
|
Maintains and facilitates clear and concise communications between various committees. This position is the veritable 'hub of the wheel' for the school. |
|
|
Actively participates in the creation of publications for the school including the weekly Garden Breeze newsletter, marketing brochures and website articles.
|
|
|
Fosters a positive relationship with the current landlord while driving efforts toward a permanent campus. |
|
|
Supports the development of successful fund raising endeavors including the Capital Campaign. Annual Fund and Auction. |
|
|
Ensures that the School maintains accreditations and memberships with AWSNA, SACS, SAIS, GAC, GISA AND NAIS. |
|
|
Participates in the public relations and marketing efforts of the school by attending various outreach events and professional meetings. |
|
|
Assists in the recruitment and hiring of qualified teachers and staff. |

Qualifications
|
|
Applicant must be in harmony with and exhibit knowledge of Waldorf schools' philosophy, educational principles, practices and methods. |
|
|
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Education, Administration, Business, Human Resources or related field; basic knowledge of regulations governing non-profits and proficient in MS office; a minimum of 3 years professional experience. |
|
|
Demonstrate impeccable writing skills for business letters, newsletters and marketing communications. |
|
|
Have experience in human resource development marked by excellent listening skills and management through delegation and follow-though. |
|
|
Be comfortable working on multiple projects in an organized fashion while exhibiting a strong sense of prioritization and time management. |
|
|
Must be conversant with budgets and budgeting processes and have demonstrated good fiduciary practices. |
|
|
Be adept at meeting planning, facilitation, consensus building, problem solving and mediation. |
Salary and Benefits
Salary is based upon experience. Benefits include medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 403(b) retirement plan and 80% tuition remission. Two weeks vacation will be given after one year of service, plus holiday breaks in December and the spring break.
